Practitioner terms
Last updated 24 September 2026
Who these terms are for
These terms apply if you use OrangeReturns as a tax practitioner. You must be registered to practise, and the registration details, income tax reference number and documents you give us must be current and accurate. OrangeReturns reviews every application before a practitioner can take on clients, and may decline an application or suspend access if those credentials cannot be confirmed or are no longer valid.
Questions can be sent to hi@orangecascade.tech.
Your role
You are an independent practitioner. You are not an employee or agent of OrangeReturns, and OrangeReturns is not your client’s tax practitioner. Your duties to the client, to SARS and to your controlling body remain yours. You decide the tax treatment of the return you prepare.
You may use a client’s information only to prepare and file that client’s return, and only as the client has allowed. You must keep it confidential and meet the data-protection duties that apply to you. The privacy policy explains what OrangeReturns collects.
Clients and filing
A client may come to you through OrangeReturns or through your own referral link. Do not file a return with SARS until the client has approved it in writing on OrangeReturns. After filing, record the SARS submission reference in the workspace.
Payment means the client has engaged you. It does not mean every document is in. Documents required before work starts, including supporting documents for rental income and expenses, should be in place before you proceed with that part of the return. Follow-up requests you send also have to be answered before you continue.
Fees and your payout
You set the amounts clients see: a base fee, a minimum, add-ons and a specialist fee. Clients are shown one total. OrangeReturns retains 10% of the amount collected as a platform fee. You receive the remaining 90% through the Paystack subaccount you add in Settings, after the return is filed. You are responsible for the bank details you provide.
A fee can be refunded to the client only before the return is filed. OrangeReturns reviews those requests. See the payment terms.
Suspension
OrangeReturns may suspend or remove your access if your registration lapses, if the information you supplied is misleading, if you file without the client’s written approval, or if you misuse client information. Suspension does not remove a professional duty you already owe a client.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. The client terms apply to people using OrangeReturns to get a return prepared.
