Payment terms

The fee you see

Before you pay, OrangeReturns shows one total for the return. That total is set from your practitioner’s pricing and from what you told us about the tax year. If you have not chosen a practitioner yet, the amount is shown as an OrangeReturns total. You are not asked to pay a separate quote later for the same engagement.

What payment means

Paying engages the practitioner. It does not mean every document is already uploaded, and it does not mean the practitioner can start if documents required before work are still missing. Those documents still have to be provided before that part of the return proceeds. Other documents, such as some medical or retirement certificates, can be added later.

We hold the fee until the return is filed with SARS. The practitioner is paid from that held amount after filing. OrangeReturns keeps a platform share of 10%. The practitioner receives the rest. You pay the single total shown to you. The split is not an extra charge.

How you pay

Payments are taken in South African rand by Paystack. OrangeReturns does not store your card number. A return is marked paid only after Paystack confirms the payment. Opening the payment page, or returning from Paystack, does not by itself count as payment.

Refunds of the fee

This is not a SARS tax refund. A SARS refund, or an amount you owe SARS, is decided by SARS after the return is assessed.

The practitioner’s fee can be refunded only before the return is filed. After filing, the fee is released and is not refunded through OrangeReturns. If you believe a fee should be returned before filing, email hi@orangecascade.tech with the tax year. Refunds are reviewed by OrangeReturns and, if approved, sent back through Paystack.

A SARS outcome is separate

Paying the practitioner’s fee does not guarantee a refund from SARS, a reduction in tax, or that SARS will accept the return without a query. Your practitioner prepares the return from your answers and documents. You approve it before it is filed. See the terms for how that approval works.
