Here’s what to know before you start.
How does OrangeReturns work?
Create an account and answer a few questions about your tax year. We build your document checklist, you choose a practitioner and pay their fee, and they prepare your individual return. You review and approve it in writing before they submit it to SARS.
Which documents will I need?
Your checklist depends on your circumstances. It may include your IRP5 or IT3(a), medical tax certificate, retirement annuity certificate, investment tax certificates and a travel logbook. Tell us about rental or freelance income too. Bank statements are only requested when needed.
How much does it cost?
Your practitioner sets the fee for your return. You see it before paying. The fee covers document review, preparation, your approval and filing. OrangeReturns collects the payment and pays the practitioner after your return is completed.
Will I get a tax refund?
A refund is not guaranteed. Your outcome depends on your income, tax already paid, applicable deductions and credits, and SARS’s assessment. Your practitioner prepares your return using your documents and circumstances.
Can I use the practitioner who referred me?
Yes. Open their referral link to continue with that practitioner. You can then complete your details, see their fee and upload the documents they need for your return.
Do you file without my approval?
No. Your practitioner prepares the return for your review. They submit it only after you give written approval, then record the SARS submission reference.
